Kinetics Urban Legend Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Collection Part 2

Hello again! I'm back with part 2 of the Kinetics Urban Legend collection, in case you missed part 1 it can be read here. I was planning on having this post up sooner but I've been sick since Thursday :( My head feels so groggy like it's underwater and my throat has been killing me. That's one huge down fall to the seasons changing...the drastic weather changes makes it so easy to catch a cold if you're not prepared.

The Urban Legend Line comes "...with 10 new nail polish colors, each inspired by designers' runway fashions and reflecting life in the big city." Today I have 4 more colours from the collection, these colours are a lot more darker and intense compared to the other 4 from my previous post. Not included in my swatches are the colours Urban Legend and City Queen.

Pantone Colour Challenge

This is just a test for fun.
You click on the blocks and rearrange them on the colour spectrum.

You get a score on a scale between 0 and 99, with 0 being Perfect Color Acuity and 99 being Low Color Acuity.
I actually got zero which is quite a surprise. The lower the score the better your "colour vision".

I do admit it's a bit hard and you need to squint a little.. but try it out and tell me how well you did!! ^_^

Edit: PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Some may experience headaches or other symptoms. Please do not continue if you feel anything negative, I don't want anyone to feel like crap afterwards! <3 <3 <3

Kinetics Urban Legend Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Collection Part 1

Holy shizz you guys! When did summer end...it's freezing here in the city, I definitely didn't get the memo when mother nature decided to drop the warm weather. It was as low as 6 degrees today but on Wednesday it will be as high as 21 degrees! The weather is always so awkward this time of year.

Today I have some of the Kinetics Urban Legend Fall/Winter 2013/2014 to share with you all. This collection consists of 10 colours most of which are darker vampy colours synonymous with the colder weather. Here is how Kinetics describes their new collection:

"This fall, Kinetics brings you Urban Legend, with 10 new nail polish colors, each inspired by a designer's runway fashions and reflecting life in a big city. From sophisticated elegance of up-town life like Cat As Accessory, through sheer elegance of browns in Urbanesse, with conclusion in signature red Urban Legend. The original artwork for the Urban Legend's nail color line was created exclusively for Kinetics' Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Collection."

For part one I have 4 of the lighter colours from the collection to show you all:

Nelly Polish: World's First Dried Polish! Beeny and Looe

Hi friends! Happy Thursday I hope all of you are having a good week! Today I have a product I'm super excited to share with you all. A while back the Royal Air had become much more strict with their regulations and polish coming out of the UK was near impossible. I was so bummed when I heard about it because I love to swap and there are some really amazing brands, big names and indies that are only available in the UK.

For some time I gave up on the idea of purchasing or swapping polishes from the UK until I came across an indie maker who came up with the most brilliant idea ever, dried polish! Who would've thought the answer was that simple! Hilary runs and owns Nelly Polish and she sells the world's first dried polish. The approach is so simple, Hilary sells dehydrated polish already mixed with colour mica/pigments, glitters and mixing balls without the base which makes it completely safe to ship overseas. When you receive the mix all you need to do is add clear polish, shake and ta-da! She offers her polishes in 3 different options, regular premixed polishes priced at $8.92USD, the dried polish in bottles priced at $7.30 or just the dried polish in a packet priced at $4.87. So not only is the idea ingenious, it is very affordable.

The process very simple and fun to do, the package included easy to follow instructions. Hilary kindly sent us Beeny and Looe for review. For Beeny I followed the instructions closely, added polish to the bottle and shook like crazy. I had to pour a little in at a time because the dried polish took up 2/3 of the bottle. For Looe I decided to dump out half of the dried polish first, add polish, mix and then add the remaining dried polish back into the mix. I found that method, although messier mixed better. The entire process was really fun but I sugguest to do the mixing in a well ventilated room or outside.

Hello again friends! Today I have another stamping plate send over to review from KKCenterHk.

Our previous reviews of KKCenterHk's paper eyelashes review can be read here and  their scraper/stamper and plate QA11 can be read here. This post will feature N.NAIL Hello Kitty KT Heart Bow Flower Doll Stamping Plate. This plate is priced at $5.05USD and contains 11 Hello Kitty themed images. The pattern on the bottom right appears to be upside down...I wasn't quite sure what it was at first but I think it's the shape of a bear.

Free Goodies from L'Oreal Beauty Bar at TIFF

As fellow Torontonians may be aware the Toronto Film Festival is currently underway, the fest runs from Sept 5 to Sept 15. In that short amount of time movies stars, directors, producers and the like flock to Toronto for the event. For the film buffs or celebs stalkers this time is heaven for them. I myself am not a huge movie buff or a fan of celeb stalking so I can't say that I really pay too much attention when TIFF takes place.

Now if some of you are not aware, L'Oreal Paris is actually a big sponsor for the event and while the festival is running they've set up a free beauty bar in David Pecaut Square on King St. I had the chance to drop by today and wanted to share my experience with you all. The beauty bar offers nail, lip or pony tail service for no charge. You are given the option to choose one of the three services, the products they used for the nail and lip bar were from their recently released limited edition Collection Privée.

Priti NYC Polish

Launched in 2005 by Kim D'amato.  She created a luxury eco-friendly nail polish to parallel her efforts to switch to organic foods and health products. Let's just say HORRAY since Priti NYC is pretty amazing - it's 5 free and vegan! Free of Toluene, Dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and camphor. It's quite fast drying and glossy.
From personal experience, some of the formulas are a tad streaky but with top coat it's dries super smooth and extra shiny.
Application was pretty good and there's no problems in coverage or staining from the ones I've tried. Oh and a plus is due to it being 5 free, it's not freaking overwhelmingly stinky! haha. Being a person who usually puts on polish right before bed, that is a big bonus for me not having to smell nail polish as I try to sleep!

They also have a line just for all the little princesses in our lives, non-toxic and super adorable! they come in 8ml and is $9 on their website. You can check out the line here.

Ps. ALOT if not all of Priti NYC's products are non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, cruelty-free and vegan. Take a look at their Soy Nail Polish Remover.
Also it brings a BIG smile to my face when I read that Priti NYC is very active with various charities and community events which support women issues and the environment.
If you want to know more information just click here. I just posted a bit of general information.

Before I begin, I would like to thank Priti NYC for this opportunity. The colours are just so amazing and it was a pleasant surprise to be getting these. They are SO ME and I just LOVE the colours. If you can't tell already I really like purple ;) hehe..

Also, this post is picture heavy hence the line break, why so many pictures you ask? because.. in different lighting the colour changes and they're all so nice I couldn't pick haha..

here we go!

KKCenterHk Stamper, Scraper and Stamping Plate QA11

Hello again friends! I hope you all had an awesome long weekend. I'm back again with another post. Today I'm very excited to share with you all some goodies KKCenterHk sent over. Last time we reviewed their paper eyelashes (post can be read here)...this time around we were sent 2 nail plates and a scraper/stamper to review. In this post I will be featuring their N.Nail Mini Size Iron Scraper & Size Stamp Set and their N.QA11 N.NAIL Ethnic Style Lace Cat Stripe Stamp Template Plate.

The scraper and stamper set is priced at $4.50USD and comes with plastic scraper 3cm in length and a stamper 2.3cm in diameter. The item pages lists the scraper material to be iron but the one that I received was all plastic. Typically when I stamp I like to use an old gift card or a very rigid piece of paper because I found that the metal scraper really scratched my plates and over time it made my plates look like a hot mess. So I was pretty pleased to try out this all plastic scrapper.
