CND Vinylux 2016 Summer Flirtation Collection

Last month I was invited to preview CND 2016 Summer Flirtation Collection and their new Spa line. At the event I was introduced to 8 new shades from the CND Vinylux line and 6 (out of the 8) shades from the CND Shellac line. Mostly made up of gorgeous pastel shades, this summer collection will be a nice change from all the bright colours we usually see with summer releases.

"There’s an electricity of unspoken attraction in the air. Evoke a subtle, sensual femininity with the new Flirtation Collection from CND. A palette of soft yet bright shades teases at the imagination and makes this collection equal parts coy, confident, and playful."

There was also a preview of CND Spa products which I will be sharing with you in another post.

“This season, sweet, creamy pastels are inspired by modern lace and embroidery for a delicate and refined glamour,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails will be slim oval glazed with tender shades of coral and lilac, blushed with the spark of deepening allure. Flirtation’s code allows you to be irresistible.”

Inspiration behind the collection

Skin Tease
A nude creme polish. I was worried this would look too mannequin hand like but on the nail the shade was much lighter and very flattering. I needed two coats for full opacity.

Be Demure
This baby pink creme polish was finicky and slightly patchy. I needed three thick coats to even out the areas my nail showed through. A good dupe for this shade would be OPI Mod About You.

Desert Poppy
For a collection inspired by creamy pastels, I was surprised this shimmery coral was included. Every other colour in the line is pastel so this bright orange-coral was a pleasant surprise. I had to use two coats for full opacity.

You can kind of see the almost impossible to capture shimmer in the bottle.

Honey Darlin'
One of my favs from the collection, this beautiful pastel yellow creme was a bit tricky to apply and needed three coats for full opacity but well worth the effort.

Pink Pursuit
T
he pastel pink sister of Skin Tease. As I find with most creme polishes, I usually need three solid coats before I even out all patchiness. This shade was no exception; it was finicky but the beautiful shade was worth the extra effort.

Aqua-Instance
A bright aqua creme polish that needed two coats for full coverage. I can definitely see myself reaching for this eye catching shade this summer quite often.

Lavender LaceI got away with two coats of this shimmery lavender polish. The name is quite fitting as the colour did remind me of satiny negligees.

Another almost impossible to capture shimmer, I think you can kind of see it through the bottle.

Date Night
This royal blue shade was my favourite out of the whole collection. Creamy and opaque in one coat, it had the great formula I look for in a quality polish.

The Flirtation Collection will be available worldwide March 2016.

Until Next Time,

Annie

  2. I know right, such lovely feminine colours. A nice change from bright shades that most brands seem to associate with summer.
