Jamberry Nail Shields Review + Giveaway!!!

Hello friends!

Today I'm excited to tell you that Jamberry nails has recently arrived in Canada and I had the chance to give the nail shields a try. I've tried a variety of nail shields/wraps/decals in the past but I've never come across a brand that offers so many cute designs. Jamberry boasts a wear time of up to 2 weeks on fingers and 4 weeks on toes. I've only had my shield on for one day but I will try to keep it on for as long as possible to test this out.

Jamberry has over 300 designs to choose from. A regular sheet comes with 18 wraps which is good for 2-3 applications (depending on nail length). The regular sheets costs $15USD/$17 CAD and are buy 3 get 1 free. You can even upload your own pictures and design your own shields on their website, though that option costs a bit more. (Pricing is $18.75 USD/ $22.50 CAD per sheet, plus a $6 USD / $7.25 CAD setup fee per order.)

So here is the sample sheet I received from Barb, my local Jamberry consultant. I decided to use the stripes to create a nautical themed mani.

I followed this YouTube video for application instructions:

The instructions were pretty straight forward but I did end up getting a tiny wrinkle or two on the sides of my nails. Which for my first application wasn't so bad. In hindsight I should've heated up the wrap a little longer to make it more pliable. The application process does require more tools and time compared to water decals or Sally Hansen nail strips but I've found that the decals chip very quickly and the strips are very fragile and have virtually no shelf life after the package is open. To me, the Jamberry shield felt thicker than other wraps I've tried and it took more filing to file off the excess on the tips. I'm hoping the thickness and heat application will preserve the wear time and durability. And unlike the other nail wraps a topcoat is not needed, the Jamberry shield are super shiny as is.

Here is the final look I created. I have on Jamberry Nail Shields Black & White Skinny on my pinkie, China Glaze Sea Spray as my base on my other nails, Glitzology Blue Lagoon for my glitter gradient and an anchor water decal from bornprettystore.
